Joshua Roy falls ill as Montreal recall looms
After a convincing 5-2 Rocket victory tonight over the Utica Comets, the Canadiens decided to make a move.

And it’s a transaction we’ve all been waiting for.

Joshua Roy has finally been recalled by the big club.

The Quebec forward was having a good time down there. Indeed, in his team’s most recent win, he didn’t collect a point, but he took three shots on net and played a good game overall.

Roy won’t be sleeping long tonight, as he’ll be joining the big club tomorrow morning and is expected to face the Edmonton Oilers at the Bell Centre.

Last night after the game, Emil Heineman was traded to the Rocket. This left the 23-man roster one player short.

Details to follow…

Extension

I can’t wait to see him in action. This will be the winger’s first NHL regular-season game. He’ll face Connor McDavid and his team, who are on a nine-game winning streak.

Is this a hasty recall? Some think so.

Now, will he be used on the top-6 or will he have a slightly more defensive role in his debut? We’ll know more at tomorrow’s training session.

In 34 games with Laval in 2023-2024, Roy collected 30 points.
