At this morning’s training session, the main thing I wanted to watch was whether Jordan Harris would be able to train with the others – and if so, whether the pace would be right for him.
Because the defenseman, who was present at training yesterday, is injured. He played against the Canucks on Sunday, but not against the Flames in last night’s game at the Bell Centre.
He’s officially day-to-day.
Finally, the CH quickly announced that the defenseman would not be skating. That said, neither will Rafaël Harvey-Pinard or Mike Matheson, as all three men are enjoying a day of treatment.
Note that the three guys skated with the others yesterday and that the two Quebecers played. They didn’t play the best game of their careers, but they played.
Remember that Rafaël Harvey-Pinard missed a few games recently with a lower-body injury. Is he playing injured? Clearly, yes.
It’s too early to say whether all three guys will be able to play tomorrow. The least serious case, given the club’s depth, is Harvey-Pinard. After all, Michael Pezzetta may just take his place.
But among the defenders, it’s a different kettle of fish. Chris Wideman (unlikely to play this year), David Savard (injured) and Jordan Harris were the defenders in the press gallery.

If, in a worst-case scenario, Matheson and Harris can’t play, it’s going to take a recall from Laval. The CH isn’t there yet, but the question remains.

Gotta give Ross Atkins credit when the opportunity presents itself, because that’s not a common occurrence. https://t.co/TF2KZmxl2m
