Cathy Gauthier and Marie-Claude Savard to face off in boxing match

The boxing world wasn’t ready for this kind of news.

Quite frankly, it’s almost impossible to believe that many people were waiting for this news.

We learned from Laurent Poulin of Boxingtown Québec that Cathy Gauthier and Marie-Claude Savard will be facing off in the ring… in a boxing match.

That’s right!

Marie-Claude Savard also shared her comments on “Ça rentre au poste”:

Yes, we have fun on the radio, but it’s serious business […] When you get in the ring, there are no more friends. I prepare seriously. – Marie Claude-Savard

Cathy Gauthier and Marie-Claude Savard work for Énergie (94.3), and the radio station is used to stunts on air.

Are we talking about a joke here? You have to wonder. I’ll believe it when I see the two women in the ring…

Note that we’re talking about an amateur fight (with helmets) limited to three rounds.

In recent years, we’ve seen a lot of mixed fights in boxing.

Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou…

Justin Trudeau vs Patrick Brazeau…

Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor…

And now, Gauthier vs Savard.

In the comments of the Boxingtown Québec publication, Marie-Claude Savard confided that she might “continue” her boxing career after the fight:

It won’t be my last fight! Pro….we’ll see! I’ll be a Fighting Hilton for this fight. Alex will be in my corner as well as Derek Pomerleau. I train at Boxe Action in Mercier. – Marie-Claude Savard

We’ll keep you posted in the coming weeks. But it’s going to be special.

In bursts

– He’s on fire so far.

– A fine platform for the Quebecer.

– Ayoye!

– Well deserved.
