On the ice, it’s clear that Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield are at the heart of the Habs’ recovery plan.
You may think they’re too small to be on the first line or whatever, but the fact remains that they’re both at the heart of Martin St-Louis’ lineup.
Whether it’s through Caufield’s scoring talents or through all that Suzuki, the club’s captain and #1 center, can bring to the rink, these are the guys Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton want to take to the next level.
And that’s a good thing, because, as you no doubt know, the two men have developed a great chemistry. It shows on the rink, but it also shows off the ice.
Caufield, on the other hand, shows us that the guys aren’t alone.
Let’s not forget that we’re just a few weeks away from the golf tournament and the start of early-season activities. That includes, for established players like these two, training camp.
So it’s great to see them taking the time now to enjoy themselves down south. After all, when they get back to Montreal, they’ll need to be in top physical and mental shape.
Expectations are different this year, as we all know. And if the CH really wants to win more games than before, it’s going to come down to #14 and #22, of course.
