The Price family has officially left Montreal

We’ve been talking about it for a long time, but now it’s done: the Price family has moved out of its Quebec neighborhood.

We knew that Carey, Angela and their children would be heading west for the rest of their lives, to be closer to their families. But now it’s done.

This morning, Angela took the time to post several photos on social networks.

In them, neighbors (including Paul Byron) woke up at 6:30 this morning to see the Price family off to the airport. There was clearly emotion in the air.

After taking part in the Grand Prix festivities, Price and his wife headed for the airport with the kids. We know the Prices will be back in town once in a while, but they don’t live in town anymore.

So it’s a page of history that’s turned.

In an Instagram post, Angela marked it as mostly mourning the neighborhood. After all, as they’ll be coming back to the city sometimes, it’s mostly the family environment as such that they’ll really miss.

That’s understandable.

Remember, the janitor has three years left on his contract. The move is proof that he won’t be able to return to the game for the foreseeable future, which comes as no surprise.

It now remains to be seen whether the Canadiens will be able to replace him on the ice.
