About an hour ago, the Canadiens held a 4-0 lead over the Jets late in the third period. At that point, it looked like the team was headed for its fifth straight win.
And all of this without their captain, Nick Suzuki.
But the Jets, in the very final moments of the game, decided to turn things around. The visitors pulled off the latest four-goal comeback in NHL history… before winning in overtime.

And after the game, the Habs players didn't beat around the bush in their comments to the media. You could tell that all the guys who spoke were furious.
Josh Anderson, for example, was pretty angry. He insisted that a lot of guys need to take a long, hard look in the mirror and that what happened tonight is unacceptable. He did, however, give a shout-out to Jacob Fowler, “the only one who played well tonight.”

Cole Caufield, for his part, pretty much echoed those sentiments. In his view, there's no excuse for what happened tonight.
And the outspoken player also added that some Habs players thought the game was over. This isn't the first time he's criticized his teammates in front of the media this year.

Phillip Danault and Kaiden Guhle, who also spoke to the media, made essentially the same points. You can sense that in the locker room, the guys are really frustrated with how things turned out.
The team had to settle for one point in a game they were leading 4-0 late in the third period. That's far from ideal, after all.
Overtime
Martin St-Louis, for his part, seemed a little less frustrated than his players. While not satisfied with the result, he noted that his team didn't play well at 5-on-5 and that even though the Habs were leading, they weren't beating the Jets.
Instead, the coach used this opportunity to remind the team that this loss shouldn't dictate what happens next. If it does, the guys need to be mentally stronger.
#Habs Martin St-Louis: “If you let this setback dictate what happens next sigh you've got to be mentally stronger. You've got to be honest, you've got to self-assess, and there's got to be some self-correction. You can't let one incident dictate what's next for you in anything.”
