The Gleb Pugachyov situation continues to be the talk of the town.
After all, in recent weeks, his commitment to becoming the best hockey player he can be has been called into question in Montreal.
That's not good.
The young man, who started the season playing junior hockey in Russia, will, however, be able to join his KHL team, Torpedo, for the rest of the season.
According to Nicolas Cloutier, Pugachyov has been recalled.
I'm told that Gleb Pugachyov has in fact been recalled by Torpedo in the KHL.@TVASports https://t.co/wlz7pSAsis

Note: Being recalled does not automatically mean he'll get significant ice time. He'll have to earn it and make sure he works hard on the ice.
Is he capable of doing that?
The Cam Talbot Situation
The Montreal Canadiens won't start the season with a three-way competition for the starting goaltender spot. At least, that's the hope of Kent Hughes, the man in charge of finalizing the roster.
Barring an injury, Jakub Dobes will be there. But what about the others?
The goalies won't have many preseason games to show what they can do. Management, which undoubtedly has an idea of what they want, will therefore have to make a decision quickly.
Will Samuel Montembeault be placed on waivers if he doesn't make the team? It's possible.
A trade involving the Quebec native is also possible, should the team decide to give the No. 2 spot to Jacob Fowler. But yesterday, a potential option for Monty and the Habs was ruled out when Cam Talbot signed with Columbus, which had an opening.
So the Habs will have to look elsewhere.
Officially official!
We've signed goaltender Cam Talbot to a one-year contract for the 2026–27 season.

Among them? Patrik Laine.

Will an NHL team give him a tryout? Does he have PTO (tryout) offers on the table but hasn't said yes yet? That's possible, too.
We'll see what's in store for him.
