After signing Chris Kreider and Zachary Bolduc over the weekend, the Canadiens named Josh Anderson as assistant captain this morning.

They also announced this morning that they've extended Martin St-Louis's contract.

One of the major issues still to be resolved is that of Arber Xhekaj, the last unsigned player in the Montreal Canadiens organization heading into next season.

What's the latest?

According to Pierre LeBrun, the defenseman has not yet signed a contract, but he is close to a new deal. Discussions with the Canadiens are progressing, then.

The expectation is that he'll be signed and at training camp, which begins Wednesday.
