Eric Robinson won the Stanley Cup last spring with the Carolina Hurricanes.
And while he was finally able to spend HIS day with the coveted trophy, he chose to share that moment with people who hold a very special place in his life.
In particular, the forward invited Guy Gaudreau—the father of Johnny and Matthew—to come celebrate with him.
It's worth noting that Guy Gaudreau was one of Robinson's coaches when he was younger and just starting out in hockey.
So in a way, it was a return to his roots for the forward, who wanted to take advantage of this memorable day to thank the man who helped him get started in the sport.
But beyond the relationship between the two men, the moment was inevitably filled with emotion… and I don't think I need to spell it out for you to understand.
Carolina Hurricanes forward Eric Robinson spent his day with the Stanley Cup alongside friends, family, and one of the most important figures in his hockey journey, Guy Gaudreau.

The Stanley Cup represents the ULTIMATE achievement in a hockey player's career.
That said, Robinson could very well have spent the day solely with his loved ones and teammates… but instead, he chose to share some of his joy with someone who played a role in his journey.
And for Guy Gaudreau, who has had a rather difficult few years, being able to experience such a special moment with the Stanley Cup must have held significant sentimental value.
It's the kind of gesture that goes beyond sports, after all. Robinson didn't just celebrate his Cup victory—he also took the time to pay tribute to someone important in his story and made the moment even more special for the Gaudreau family.
A very kind gesture on the part of the Hurricanes forward.

– Worth noting.
It may not seem like much, but Ivan Demidov hasn't practiced on the ice since last Monday.
Should we start to worry?
