For the past few years, Renaud Lavoie had been back at BPM Sports. He had a morning show and, over the past year, even an afternoon show.

But now we're talking about him in the past tense.

Why? Because Lavoie himself stated on social media that he won't be returning to the station's airwaves during the upcoming radio season.

He says he wanted to come back (he negotiated with the station) and that he enjoyed his time on the air, but he was unable to reach a financial agreement with the station's management.

Rumor has it that there was a difference of about a hundred dollars a week between the offer and his asking price.

He says, however, that he's not closed to the idea of returning someday. In other words, it seems that if the money is on the table, he might change his mind and sign a contract.

His segment was always very popular, and he often brought valuable insights to the table. So, a renowned reporter is leaving the sports station ahead of the upcoming radio season.

By the way, when can we expect confirmation of the schedule?

Last year, he was not only with the morning crew but also on the post-game show. We'll see who takes his place on the station's two flagship shows.

That said, he certainly won't miss getting up in the wee hours of the morning for his segment when the Canadiens were out West.

We'll see what's in store for Renaud Lavoie, who had some health issues during the 2026 playoffs. Will we only see him on TVA Sports, or will he be working elsewhere?

In a nutshell

– Oh, really.

– Nothing's changed.

– That makes sense.
