Trey Yesavage Undergoes Surgery: His Season Is in Jeopardy

Bad news in Toronto.

The Blue Jays announced that Trey Yesavage has finally undergone surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his knee. He was injured last week.

Does this mean his season is over? Not necessarily. The Blue Jays will evaluate him on a weekly basis.

But there's still a chance we won't see him again until 2027.

If you ask me, I have a feeling they'll be cautious with him. I'd be surprised to see him return this season.

But we'll see.

It's a shame because the Blue Jays wanted him to log innings to adjust to the pace of a full Major League Baseball season. But now, he's missed the start of the season and (apparently) the end of the season as well.

In 18 games, he posted a 3.65 ERA and 91 strikeouts in 93 and two-thirds innings pitched.

Speaking of the Blue Jays, it's also worth noting that Jameson Taillon, who left yesterday's game, has been placed on the injured list. He's dealing with a forearm issue and won't pitch for a few days, but it doesn't seem to be too serious at this point.

Chase Lee has been recalled.
