Bad news in Toronto.
The Blue Jays announced that Trey Yesavage has finally undergone surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his knee. He was injured last week.
Does this mean his season is over? Not necessarily. The Blue Jays will evaluate him on a weekly basis.
But there's still a chance we won't see him again until 2027.

If you ask me, I have a feeling they'll be cautious with him. I'd be surprised to see him return this season.
But we'll see.
It's a shame because the Blue Jays wanted him to log innings to adjust to the pace of a full Major League Baseball season. But now, he's missed the start of the season and (apparently) the end of the season as well.
In 18 games, he posted a 3.65 ERA and 91 strikeouts in 93 and two-thirds innings pitched.
Speaking of the Blue Jays, it's also worth noting that Jameson Taillon, who left yesterday's game, has been placed on the injured list. He's dealing with a forearm issue and won't pitch for a few days, but it doesn't seem to be too serious at this point.
Chase Lee has been recalled.

Since Simeon Woods-Richardson is still with the big club after his innings yesterday, we can assume he may have a role to play in helping to replace the pitcher of Canadian descent.
Will he join Max Scherzer, Shane Bieber, Jose Soriano, and Dylan Cease in the rotation? It's possible. Plans have not yet been announced on this matter.
It's also worth noting that Dylan Cease will start today's game. Charles McAdoo, meanwhile, will be tested in left field.
Interesting…
