The Wings are greedy—very greedy.

We already know that Detroit has asked the Wild for Matthew Boldy and that, despite the fact that other teams view him as a No. 2 center, the Wings want compensation equivalent to a No. 1 center.

And according to the latest reports from journalist Helene St. James, the Michigan-based club wants a No. 1 center in exchange for its No. 1 center.

Obviously, the teams involved aren't having any of it…

I can't see the Habs giving up Nick Suzuki, the Panthers giving up Aleksander Barkov, the Golden Knights giving up Jack Eichel, the Stars giving up Wyatt Johnston, or the Wild giving up Matthew Boldy. Maybe Minnesota could part with Joel Eriksson Ek, but it would take more than that.

The best solution for both sides: reconciliation.

But that could be difficult. Larkin has requested a trade, and the team is furious with its own captain. The relationship probably isn't that good… Could Steve Yzerman's departure as GM work in favor of Larkin's return to Detroit?

In any case, this situation isn't going to be resolved anytime soon. Will the new GM scale back the team's demands?

Stay tuned.

In a Nutshell

– A blowout. Landon DuPont was dominant.

– Zachary Bolduc had a front-row seat.

– Impressive.

– Stay tuned.

– I hope so.
