We're slowly starting to see more and more hockey as the summer progresses. Right now, the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup is capturing the attention of scouts and fans alike, with the top under-18 players in action.

The top prospect from Quebec on Team Canada is Alexis Joseph, a giant center capable of racking up a ton of points.

However, after just two games in this tournament, an NHL scout told Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects that he believes Joseph won't even be drafted in the top 10 next June.

That's a pretty bold statement after just two games in this tournament.

Alexis Joseph is projected to be a top-5 pick in the upcoming NHL Draft. His 6'5” height and 200-pound frame are enough to win over scouts, especially considering he finished his rookie season in the QMJHL averaging more than one point per game.

Another member of Elite Prospects, meanwhile, revealed that he wasn't impressed with Joseph's performance in the tournament's first game.

Hadi Kalakeche felt that the Quebec native was playing slowly and seemed sluggish on the ice—but not in a good way.

Despite all that, two games early in a preseason tournament aren't likely to hurt Joseph's stock too much. He has plenty of time to prove he has what it takes to become an elite NHL player.

On top of that, his size gives him a good chance of maintaining his spot among the top players on scouts' lists. It's not every year that a 6'5” center capable of scoring goals comes along in the draft.

We need to give the young player time. There's a reason people have such high expectations for him.
