Matvei Michkov selected seventh overall by the Flyers

For the past few weeks, the great unknown in connection with the draft was Matvei Michkov. We were told that Connor Bedard, Adam Fantilli, Leo Carlsson and Will Smith would go in the top-4 (which they did), and then it would be up to the CH to decide with the fifth pick.

In the end, Kent Hughes and his crew preferred David Reinbacher.

So Michkov continued his descent, and at No. 6, the Coyotes also selected a defenseman in Dmitri Simashev.

This allowed the Flyers to go to the podium for the seventh pick, and finally, Michkov found a taker.
