Series wrap-up: Hurricanes push Devils to brink of elimination
Two teams could give themselves a two-game lead in their series last night.

Here are the highlights:

Devils one game away from elimination

After a convincing win in the last game, the Devils had the momentum going into Game 4. They could have tied the series, but the Hurricanes won a rare road game by a score of 6-1.

They now lead the series 3-1.

New Jersey got off to a good start with an early goal. Timo Meier, who scored his first goal in the last game, scored his second of the series.

At the end of the period, however, Martin Necas brought everyone back to square one.

Then, in the second period, the visitors scored four goals in the space of 5:20. That was it for the Devils.

In the win, Jordan Martinook collected a goal and two assists. After not collecting a point in the first round, the forward now has 10 points in the second round.

The Hurricanes will have the chance to eliminate the Devils at home on Thursday. Game time is 7pm.

Stars tie series

Last night, the Stars won a big game on the road to tie the series against the Kraken.

A 6-3 victory means Dallas returns home with the series tied 2-2.

The game started well for the visitors. Jamie Benn, on the power play, scored his second of the series.

Dallas built a four-goal lead in the second period, thanks in particular to Max Domi, who finished the game with two goals.

Joe Pavelski also scored. The American now has six goals in this series.

The all-important game number five will be played in Dallas on Thursday night, starting at 9:30pm.
