Big night in the NHL last night, as 10 games were presented.

Here are the results and highlights:

1. Sam Bennett gives Max Domi a beating

If he can‘t score and contribute offensively, Max Domi will try to energize his team. Yesterday, that’s exactly what he tried to do, but it more or less worked.

He threw down the gloves against Sam Bennett and – pardon the expression – ate a volley.

Domi got so dominated that he decided to laugh at his opponent’s baldness…

As for the game itself, the Leafs won it in a shootout. The Panthers thought they had escaped with the win after an Evan Rodrigues goal.

The referees decided to disallow the goal.

Some fans and players had already left for the parking lot and locker room.

As for Mitchell Marner, he didn’t have the easiest evening. In the first period, he received a puck directly in the face.

He later returned wearing extra protection.

2. Two goals and a fight for Michael McCarron

With yesterday’s game alone, Michael McCarron equalled his goal tally from last year.

The former Montreal Canadien found the back of the net twice (in the space of eight minutes).

In a Preds win, McCarron even threw down the gloves.

He should have traded a goal for an assist to complete the Gordie Howe hat trick…

Filip Forsberg also stood out. In overtime, he scored the winning goal.

Nashville won its last six games.

3. Three points for Connor McDavid

Ladies and gentlemen, Connor McDavid is officially back!

After a slow start to the season, the best player in the world is back on top. After some fine performances over the past few days, 97 is coming off a three-point game, his third in a row.

In an Oilers victory over the Knights, the captain collected a goal and two assists.

That gives him 12 points in his last three games.

On the Habs, only five players have 12 points this season.

Another who’s doing well in Edmonton is Evander Kane. In his last eight games, he has eight goals.

4. John Hynes wins his first game at the Wild helm

After a disastrous start to the Minnesota season, Dean Evason was fired and John Hynes replaced him.

Yesterday was the coach’s first game at the helm, and he won it.

3-1 victory over the St. Louis Blues.

In the home team’s win, Filip Gustavsson stopped 23 of 24 shots.

Matthew Boldy, Frederick Gaudreau and Joel Eriksson Ek were the scorers.

As for Mats Zuccarrello, he increased his sequence of home games with at least one point to 10.

5. A special moment for Owen Micciche

Yesterday was Hockey fights for cancer night in the NHL.

The Flyers decided to celebrate this special evening in style. They invited nine-year-old Owen Micciche to sit behind the bench.

A moment that will mark him for life.

Nice gesture by the organization!

Philadelphia, however, lost 4-1 to the Hurricanes.

For Carolina, Sebastian Aho picked up two assists and goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov stopped 28 of 29 pucks.
