Logan Cooley is really into Ivan Demidov and Lane Hutson

Logan Cooley turned a few heads—including that of our reporter Patrick Guillet—this summer in Brossard. The Mammoth center, who was in Montreal to shoot a commercial for CCM, took the opportunity to lace up his skates alongside Ivan Demidov.

As soon as they heard Cooley was coming to Montreal, Adam Nicholas and Ivan Demidov invited him to join them for an informal practice session at the CN Complex. And Cooley accepted the invitation without hesitation.

Unfortunately, there was no connection to be made between the still-vacant second—or first—center position and Cooley's visit to Montreal. Just as there wasn't really any debate about choosing Juraj Slafkovsky over Logan Cooley… but hey, Montreal is what it is, and these discussions will go on forever.

Marco D'Amico took the time to chat with Logan Cooley in the last few hours. He spoke with him about the Utah Mammoth's ambitions, Vincent Trocheck's arrival in Utah, his cousin LJ Mooney, Sidney Crosby's influence on his career… and his relationship with Ivan Demidov.

What exactly did he say about Ivan Demidov?

“In my opinion, he's already one of the most talented forwards in the league. His reading of the game is elite, and skating with him has allowed us to learn from each other. He'll be one of the best in the very near future. Montreal is lucky to have him.” – Logan Cooley on Ivan Demidov
