Leon Draisaitl: already as many goals as the 2022 series leader

The Oilers are dominant offensively. When thinking about the Oilers’ attack, the first player that comes to mind is Connor McDavid, but it’s Leon Draisaitl who is currently making the biggest impact for the Edmonton outfit.

In game three between the Oilers and Golden Knights, Draisaitl scored two goals in the first two periods. These two goals represent his 12th and 13th of the playoffs. That’s huge!

Here are his two goals during the game:

For comparison’s sake, the goal leaders during the 2022 playoffs were Evander Kane and Nathan MacKinnon. They scored 13 during the entire series. That’s the same number as Draisaitl, although he only played eight games.

The record for most goals in a playoff year belongs to Reggie Leach and Jari Kurri with 19 goals. That leaves six goals to go before the record is reached, but at the rate he’s scoring, it shouldn’t be too long.

That’s not the only mark Draisaitl reached on Saturday night. He also became the third-fastest player in history to reach 75 playoff points.

The only two who surpass him are Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky. Not feet of celery!

Draisaitl has gotten so into the Golden Knights’ heads that the social networking guy can’t take it anymore. He calls the Oilers the “Leon Draisaitlers”.

In bursts
