Top-5: Phillip Danault receives a puck directly in the face
Eight NHL games were played last night.

Here are the results and highlights:

1. Philip Danault gets a puck in the face, but gets back in the game and scores

Phillip Danault gave his fans a good scare early in the game.

He took a puck to the face and there was a lot of blood on the ice.

It took him a while to get back into the game, but he’s back.

He even celebrated his stitches with a goal.

It was his only goal in a 4-1 loss at Madison Square Garden.

After a perfect start to the season away from home, now Los Angeles has lost its last two road games, both in New York.

2. Erik Gudbranson flips out

Earlier this afternoon, the Blue Jackets hosted the Florida Panthers.

The visitors finally won a fifth game in their last seven. Thanks to the brilliance of Sam Reinhart, who finished with four assists.

5-2 victory

It was a game with plenty of action.

Earlier in the game, Nick Cousins landed a vicious blow on Erik Gudbranson. The defender, who will never be intimidated, tried to retaliate, but was subdued first.

It was only a temporary setback for him, because later in the match, he didn’t miss a beat.

Let’s just say I wouldn’t have liked to have been Cousins on the sequence…

The right-hander will have a phone hearing later today.

The defenseman received 27 penalty minutes on the sequence.

3. Oilers on fire

The Oilers are doing well, very well.

After a slow start to the season, Edmonton has recovered and now has a positive record (12-12-1).

Yesterday, the club beat another very good club these days, the Devils, 4-1.

Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard increased his streak of games with at least one point to 11.

Since the trade that brought Mattias Ekholm to town, the right-hander has 64 points in 58 games.

Another Oilers defenseman who stood out: Darnell Nurse. He offered a good check to Dawson Mercer.

4. Joel Edmundson’s first point in a Caps uniform

Have you forgotten about Joel Edmundson? Because I have.

Yesterday, he finally collected his first point in a Caps uniform.

Quite a check from T.J. Oshie on the sequence, who won’t collect a point!

In 11 games in Washington this season, Edmundson has a record of 0 and one assist.

As for the game itself, Washington won 4-2 against the Blackhawks.

Despite the loss, Connor Bedard put on a show. He made this beautiful pass.

5. Dangerous move by Ryan Strome

The Ducks are really on a pitiful streak. They started the season well, but now, in their last 12 games, they’re 1-11-0.

Ouch!

Yesterday, Anaheim lost 4-2 to the Jets. They led 2-0.

The Jets, on the other hand, have won their last four games and are now in first place in their division.

What I remember most about the game was Ryan Strome’s dangerous move on Kyle Connor. Connor went to the dressing room and never returned to the game.

Strome, for his part, explained himself to Mark Scheifele afterwards and will probably have to do the same with the NHL Disciplinary Committee later today.

The league will be busy today…
