Three Oilers scouts at CH game
Since the start of the season, the Oilers and the Canadiens have often found themselves in the same sentence.

Why? Because the goalies in Edmonton are bad, and because the Habs have the resources to help the Alberta club.

Pierre LeBrun says the two sides haven’t been talking lately, but that doesn’t rule out the possibility of Ken Holland and Kent Hughes dancing.

Eric Engels reports that the Oilers have sent three of their scouts to Columbus for tonight’s game against the Blue Jackets.

There have been trade rumors between the two clubs for a while, but nothing has materialized so far.

As a reminder, Samuel Montembeault faces the Blue Jackets tonight.

One wonders if Oilers scouts are out to get the Quebecer.

Monty may not have achieved the status of number-one goaltender in the National League just yet, but his stats since the start of the season show that he has taken a step forward in his game.

He’s solid… And what’s even more interesting for the Oilers is that Montembeault is starting to perform on a consistent basis. That’s what we used to criticize him for.

Extension

The Oilers tried a coaching change to fix their poor start to the season, and they’re on a roll right now.

Thanks to Connor McDavid, who has 12 points in his last three games… Three games won by the Edmonton team.
