Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes have been at the helm of the Canadiens for several years now. The two men, who have known each other for a long time, have brought a new vision to town, and we're starting to see the results. That said, it's important to remember that seeing two leaders in town is something new. Prior to the arrival of Hughes and Gorton, there was only one person at the top of the Montreal hockey operations hierarchy, but Geoff Molson felt that this was a lot of responsibility for one person, hence the decision to hire two. However, when Hughes arrived in Montreal, he found that he was spending a lot of time managing things that weren't directly related to hockey. Andas the GM told Renaud Lavoie (TVA Sports), Gorton laughed in his face.
