A quiet night in the NHL last night, with only eight teams in action.
Here are the results and highlights:
1. Max Pacioretty's first point with the Capitals
In recent years, Max Pacioretty hasn't had it easy. He's had to deal with a number of injuries.
In 2022-2023, he played just five games.
And this season, he's just returned to action. Yesterday, in his third game with the Capitals, he picked up an assist, his first point in his new uniform.
Max Pacioretty picks up his first point with the @Capitals with an assist on this goal by Dylan Strome(@stromer19)!

Coach also gave a fine speech.

Ryan Strome made quite a play on the goal sequence!
It's important to talk about another former Canadien. Joel Edmundson didn't collect a point, but he was playing in his 500th career game.

Washington, at home, finally won by a score of 4-3 over the Los Angeles Kings, the best team abroad.
John Carlson gave his team the win in the dying moments of the game.

2. Blackhawks win with ECHL line-up
With all the injuries in Chicago, it's pertinent to ask how the team is going to win games. After all, their line-up resembles one from the ECHL…
#Blackhawks 11 forwards and 7 defensemen lineup vs. Flames:
Kurashev-Dickinson-Blackwell
Reichel-Entwistle-Guttman
Donato-N/A-Sanford
Katchouk-Seney-R. JohnsonVlasic-Megna
Tinordi-Murphy
Korchinski-Zaitsev

The Blackhawks still won against the Calgary Flames.
4-3 victory.
In the victory, Colin Blackwell, the right winger of the first trio, distinguished himself. He finished the game with two goals and an assist.
He got the ball rolling.

On the losing side, Nazem Kadri gave it his all, but a two-goal performance wasn't enough.
It's a loss that will hurt the Flames in the playoff race. Right now, they're two points behind the Oilers and the final playoff spot, but they've played four more games.
3. Arizona official has had enough
Last night in Arizona, the Winnipeg Jets were visiting. The league's Team of the Hour made short work of the former Jets organization, 6-2.
In its last 12 games, the current Jets organization has a record of 10-0-2.

And without Kyle Connor.
Connor Hellebuyck didn't need to be spectacular in the game, but he was solid.
He stopped 15 shots and increased his streak of games with at least one point to 12.
Connor Hellebuyck made 15 saves to extend his own point streak to 12 games while also pushing the @NHLJets‘ franchise-record point streak to 12 contests.#NHLStats: https://t.co/tVPMVDpuDH pic.twitter.com/KVRkb7QRpR

And defensively, the Jets allowed absolutely nothing.
Another strong defensive showing, another win for the @NHLJets.#NHLStats: https://t.co/tVPMVDpuDH pic.twitter.com/3wq8Pg0POV

Winnipeg is in first place in the NHL. The club is two points ahead of the Rangers and Bruins.
4. Ducks legends honoured before the game
Prior to the Ducks' game against the Red Wings, players who won the Stanley Cup in 2007 were honored.
It's a bit random to honor them, isn't it? Anaheim is only 17 years too late.
