“[Coach Marty] is always there for you, I can reach out whenever I need & he’ll answer the phone & be there for any problems or advice. He’s a special person & I’m grateful for him.” – Drew Fortescue on his former youth hockey coach. https://t. co/ovbf6jAR4B

It’s important to remember, however, that these are not Martin St-Louis’ first steps as a coach. And he left quite a mark there too.
Drew Fortescue was a 3rd-round draft pick of the New York Rangers and will represent the United States at the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championship in Sweden in a few days’ time. He played for Martin St-Louis when he was younger.
“He’s always there for you, I can reach out to him anytime if I need to and he’ll respond. He’s a special person and I’m blessed to be able to count on him.” – Drew Fortescue
When asked what his best piece of advice had been, he replied that it was work ethic. No matter how big or small, you have to work hard, and so far it’s paid off for Fortescue, who will be part of a very powerful American edition on paper.
In closing, the Rangers prospect said he’s contemplating the possibility of playing a game with his mentor behind the opposing bench, which would be a pretty special moment.
One thing’s for sure: Martin St-Louis leaves a mark wherever he goes. He is respected and appreciated, but the question will always remain: will he be able to lead the Tricolore to the end of the rebuild? Or will he suffer the same fate as DJ Smith in a few years’ time? Only time will tell.
