Marc-André Fleury’s (controversial) mask up for auction

This week, Marc-André Fleury’s famous mask was the talk of the town. For those who haven’t been following the story, the Quebecer had a mask made to honor his wife’s aboriginal roots.

Fleury wanted to wear it, but the NHL wouldn’t let him (even for warm-ups).

As we know, the goalie eventually decided to wear the mask despite the NHL’s disagreement.

To this day, I can’t understand why this magnificent mask wasn’t unanimously accepted by the NHL…

For those of you who find it to your liking, today is your lucky day, because you might just acquire it.

As Allan Walsh, Marc-André’s agent, posted on his X account (formerly Twitter), the piece of equipment is currently up for auction.

Offer currently stands at $15,600…

If you’ve got some financial leeway, you can take part in the auction on the e.givesmart website.

For those interested in the unique goalie mask, it was autographed by the Québécois and designed by Cole Redhorse Taylor, a member of the Prairie Island Indian community.

By acquiring this object, you will not only obtain a symbolic mask, but also the one worn by one of the greatest goalkeepers in history. An opportunity not to be missed.
