Evgenii Dadonov scored another sublime goal last night
Evgenii Dadonov looks a changed man since joining the Dallas Stars.

At least, that’s what people said after watching him score eight points in his first eight games with his new team. And, to this day, the same applies to the former Montreal Canadiens player.

We all remember his time in town, which wasn’t necessarily great. But it was often the player’s effort that was criticized when he wore the blue, white and red of the Flanelle. It was as if he just didn’t feel like being there at times…

And I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say such a thing.

But, in reality, Dadonov is a good field hockey player who has been successful offensively in the NHL. That’s what he’s showing with the Stars right now: he’s collected five points in eight games since the start of the playoffs.

Last night, he even scored a sublime goal against the Seattle Kraken:

Nice speed… And what about his agility on the sequence. In the end, James Nill won his bet.

Remember that after “abandoning” the Denis Gurianov project, the Stars’ GM had openly said that his team was looking for a player who could help them right away.

This has been the case with Dadonov since he arrived in the hot Texas sun. And, although Gurianov is not expected back in Montreal next season…

That doesn’t mean Kent Hughes lost the deal. He took a tiny risk in getting the Russian from Dallas, and in the end, the experiment didn’t work.

The price was minimal… And it’s not as if Dadonov could have fetched a first-round pick either.

At least, not the way he behaved in Montreal.
