Jakub Dobes thanks (in French) the CH fans

Jakub Dobes became a fan favorite in Montreal during the Canadiens' playoff run. The goalie was absolutely dominant… and his candor with the media made a lot of people grow to love him.

Because, yeah, he's easy to like, hehe.

And today, Dobes gave fans another reason to love him. On his Instagram account, he posted a few photos to thank the fans for their support.

But what really caught everyone's attention is that the goalie did it… in French:

Thank you, Montreal. We'll come back even stronger❤ – Jakub Dobes

It's obviously a nice gesture on the goalie's part that deserves to be highlighted. We know how much he's felt the crowd's love over the past few weeks, and seeing him make a little effort like this is a beautiful thing.

Although, to be honest, we already knew Dobes could throw out a few words of French for the Habs fans, hehe.

Remember that Dobes will be eligible to sign a contract extension as early as July 1, and that the Habs reportedly intend to do so this summer. We don't know what such a contract might look like, but there are clearly signs suggesting that Dobes, too, wants to stay in Montreal for the long haul.

And with the playoff run he's just had, let's just say he's given his agent plenty of ammunition to negotiate a sweet deal for him.
