The word on the street over the past few days is that Alexandre Carrier might be back in time for the playoffs.
He must be happy to know that the first game is on Sunday instead of Saturday. That gives him a little more time to get ready.
We all agree that without Noah Dobson, seeing Carrier make progress is good news.
This morning, on the sidelines of the team's practice in Brossard, we were waiting to see if the Quebec native would be there with the others. And in the end, he was. He was also wearing a regular jersey.
That doesn't mean everything. But it still indicates that his recovery is underway. #GoodSign

It's worth noting that David Reinbacher and Adam Engstrom were present. But since the Rocket won't play until Saturday and the Canadiens aren't about to head to Florida, it doesn't change much at this point.
But it's worth noting, given the uncertainty surrounding Carrier.
That said, what's causing the most buzz is Jacob Fowler's absence. Why wasn't the goaltender on the ice with the rest of the guys this Thursday morning?
That was the question on everyone's mind when his absence was noticed.
Nick Suzuki (who will soon be a father, as Marc Antoine Godin reported) and Kaiden Guhle (we know he's not 100%)—those absences make sense. In both cases, it's a day for treatment, in fact.
But the goalie was the talk of the town.
Practice is about to start in Brossard.

It was quickly reported that the goalie (whom Pierre McGuire has his eye on) was sick. We wonder what's wrong with him… but more importantly, when he'll be able to skate with the others.
Will he be able to serve as the backup on Sunday? We'll see.
In a nutshell
– Of course.
Even in the playoffs, old habits die hard for Lane Hutson and Ivan Demidov: they were the first two to hit the ice this morning in Brossard.@DLCoulisses #GoHabsGo #Hutson #Demidov #NHLPlayoffs pic.twitter.com/laqm9hAMWQ

– Brendan Gallagher will be useful, whether he plays or not. [NYT]
– Ridiculous.
Another night to forget offensively. https://t.co/RR4oE1ENk4
