Michael Hage is having quite a season in the NCAA.
He scored 32 points (12 goals) in just 24 games with the University of Michigan and is one of his club's offensive leaders.
The Canadiens' prospect is also one of the best players on the college circuit so far this season. As a result, he's been nominated for the Hobey Baker Trophy, awarded to the best collegiate player in America's top division.

Let's note this: each team that plays in the first division must nominate a few players, and eventually, there will be a top-10 list across the college circuit to focus on the best players.
From there, the list will be whittled down to just three players, and it's in April that we'll be able to find out which guy will go home with the trophy.
Today is the first “step,” and seeing him among the players nominated for the time being is not necessarily surprising when you look at the season he's had so far.
That said, Hage has a real chance of winning the trophy if he continues to dominate like this…
Luke Mittelstadt is also on the list of players nominated for the trophy. The Canadiens' prospect, who plays for the University of Minnesota, has 14 points in 23 games so far this campaign.
But unlike Hage… I don't believe in his chances of winning the trophy, hehe.
All kidding aside, it's good to see Michael Hage getting the recognition he deserves.
His sophomore season is getting attention for all the right reasons, after all, and it's great to see him dominating the way he is right now.
The kid is showing his potential, much as he did at the World Junior Championships. And it's encouraging for the Canadiens organization and its fans:

Michael Hage continues to get good press.
And that's interesting too. His progression curve is really positive, and that gives us reason to believe that he has a good chance of having a nice, long career in the NHL.
That's going to happen if he keeps progressing the way he is right now, at least.

Since their omission from the U.S. team on January 2 in 10 games
Lane Hutson: 3 goals, 12 pts, +6, 2 game-winning goals
Cole Caufield: 5 goals, 9 pts, +5, 2 game-winning goalsThey continue to produce. That's what's important for the team.
