Because he is responsible in the three zones of the rink, because he plays center, because he excels in numerical disadvantage, because he is capable of producing offensively and because he is having his best season of his career, Jake Evans is an interesting player right now.

He is for the Canadiens… But also for the other NHL teams, who have until Friday to improve their lineup.

A final push before the series!

But what makes Evans even more interesting is his contract.

At $1.7 million until the end of the season (the agreement ends this summer), Evans has one of the best monetary values in the NHL.

And at that level, it’s logical to see that the Canadiens are receiving a lot of calls about their center player.

This is what Pierre LeBrun reported on Twitter:

In his post, the informant also recalls that the Canadiens may not trade Evans.

If Kent Hughes doesn’t get the price he wants… He won’t be tempted, even if there’s a risk of seeing Evans leave for free on the free agent market in just a few months.

But what’s particularly important to know here is that there’s a lot of interest in the main player right now.

This could cause a kind of bidding war and if that’s the case, maybe the Canadiens will be lucky enough to get more than a 2nd round pick.

Because again, Evans is the perfect rental player for a team that has a lot of money on its payroll and is looking to improve its bottom-6.

His qualities on the ice are really notable (and it’s not new)… And his contract makes him an attractive player for any NHL team.

In rafale

– Wow!

– He’s in shape, apparently.

– He mustn’t!
