Jake Allen: a new team may try to acquire him

During our New Year’s greetings via “Jeff & Chris Power Attackers”, the very first one I dropped was addressed to Kent Hughes: the people demand an end to their damned ménage à trois. People are getting their stomachs churned by how spicy this situation has become.

If logic is anything to go by, it’s Jake Allen who has to leave this household. The 33-year-old masked man remains an exemplary leader, but as the blue-white-red team builds its future, he no longer has a place in the line-up.

The future belongs to Samuel Montembeault and Cayden Primeau. In fact, Primeau is showing more and more that he has the makings of an NHL goalie, which is very encouraging.

If we return to Allen’s status as a bubble player, a new team could be among those looking to add his experience to their core. TVA Sports speculated that the Minnesota Wild could suddenly swoop in to acquire Allen.

With Filip Gustavsson added to the crippled list, Bill Guerin will undoubtedly lay out a plan to add an experienced goaltender to assist Marc-André Fleury.

The Wild will most likely have no other option than to store for a goaltender, as Gustavsson’s absence will extend over several weeks, according to club beat reporter Michael Russo.

Flower’s assistant at the time of writing is none other than Zane McIntyre, a goalie with only eight games in the show. He won’t be the one to solidify Gustavsson’s absence…

It’s worth noting that Jake Allen has over 400 duels of experience in front of an NHL cage, and will pocket an average salary of $3.85 million until the end of this season. With a little creativity, he could be the perfect fit for the Wild.
