Frédéric Allard has signed a two-year contract with the Lulea team in Sweden.

In the last few days, we learned that Quebecer Frédéric Allard had taken advantage of his autonomy to sign a contract in Europe. The defenseman will spend the next two years in Sweden.
Was it because he didn’t necessarily believe he could find work in the AHL? No.
That’s exactly what he didn’t like about his time in Laval: he didn’t really get a chance to demonstrate his skills. That’s what he told Jean-François Chaumont of the Journal de Montréal.
Let’s face it: he loved playing for the Habs, and in the end, he has very fond memories of his time with the Tricolore organization, where he realized his dream. He doesn’t want to talk too much about the CH.
They acquired me for a reason, but they didn’t want to find out what that reason was. – Frédéric Allard
While he says he’s “very disappointed” not to have played often with the Rocket, he’s happy to have had the chance to wear the Tricolore uniform. It’s one of his great moments.
His goal is to get back into the good graces of NHL scouts and rediscover his offensive side. He didn’t feel he could do that in the Canadiens organization. That’s a good assessment of the situation.
Frédéric Allard’s association with the Habs will be short-lived as he moves to Sweden next year. One of the best people to play for the Rocket in six years, in my opinion. https://t.co/WNEV3ZLvVt

He felt too old to be the big brother of the youngsters, and he doesn’t just want to be the one who stays down to help the youngsters up. He wants his chance in the NHL too.
Will his path be the right one? We think his chances are better than if he’d stayed in North America.
