We’re in the NHL offseason — and to help you get ready for the upcoming campaign, we’ll be highlighting the top 10 players on each team over the next month. This is the St. Louis Blues!
Jordan Binnington
Jordan Binnington remains one of the best goaltenders in the world, and his résumé speaks for itself. He was a key figure in Canada’s gold medal run at the Four Nations Tournament, once again proving that he can rise to the occasion when the spotlight is at its brightest. His fiery competitiveness and ability to deliver clutch performances make him a goalie that teammates rally around and opponents hate facing.
The big question now is whether Binnington can guide the St. Louis Blues back to the top of the NHL mountain. He has already shown that he can handle the pressure of the biggest stage by winning a Stanley Cup earlier in his career, but consistency will be key as the Blues try to re-establish themselves among the league’s elite. If Binnington can stay locked in and bring his very best when it matters most, there’s no doubt he has the potential to carry St. Louis deep into the playoffs once again.
Philip Broberg
Philip Broberg is quickly proving to be an outstanding acquisition for the St. Louis Blues, following the bold offer sheet move that brought him to Missouri in 2024. Still young but already showing poise beyond his years, Broberg has the skating ability, vision, and size to be a cornerstone defender for this team for a long time.
The Blues were in need of fresh talent on the blue line, and Broberg has stepped in with confidence, giving them both defensive reliability and a spark in transition play.
His upside is enormous, and the organization clearly sees him as a long-term building block. That 2024 offer sheet might end up being one of the smartest decisions the Blues have made in recent memory, as Broberg could develop into a true difference-maker.
Justin Faulk
Justin Faulk has nothing left to prove. He’s a seasoned veteran, he knows what it takes to win, and he plays an important (if often overlooked) role in St. Louis.
He’s able to guide the younger players with his experience, and on the ice, he’s still recognized as a very reliable defenseman.
Without making too much noise, Faulk is able to help his club because he’s responsible in all three zones of the ice. He’s not the one who’s going to produce extraordinary seasons offensively, but his commitment to defense is truly undeniable. He’s a leader in St. Louis and brings so much stability to the Blues’ defensive corps.
Colton Parayko
Everyone knows Colton Parayko.
Standing at 6’6”, his size, reach, and mobility make him one of the toughest defenders to go up against. He has the ability to shut down top offensive players while also contributing offensively with a heavy shot from the point.
For years, Parayko has been the steady presence the Blues rely on in all situations, whether it’s on the penalty kill, late-game defensive stands, or big playoff moments. He may not always get the same recognition as some of the best defensemens around the league, but his consistency and leadership make him invaluable. As the Blues look to remain competitive, Parayko’s role as a defensive anchor is as important as ever.
Dylan Holloway
Like Broberg, Holloway arrived in St. Louis via a hostile offer sheet… and his impact was immediately felt upon arrival at his new club.
He just had (by far) his best career season with 63 points, including 26 goals… and it makes you realize that he may never have been in the right position in Edmonton for the Oilers to be able and capable of harnessing his immense talent.
Yet we knew he had the potential to become an excellent NHL player after his final year in the NCAA. The Oilers really passed him by… and today, it’s the Blues who are making the most of it.
Jake Neighbours
Brayden Schenn
Brayden Schenn is a seasoned forward who continues to be a vital presence for the Blues. Known for his versatility, he can play both center and wing effectively, providing the team with options in multiple situations.
Schenn combines experience, vision, and a high hockey IQ, making him reliable in both offensive and defensive situations. And he has experience to back him up in most of the situations on the ice, which always help for a young team like the Blues.
Even as younger talent emerges, he remains a cornerstone for the Blues’ forward group, contributing leadership on and off the ice. His ability to drive play, win faceoffs, and produce points consistently ensures that he stays an integral part of the lineup year after year.
Pavel Buchnevich
Pavel Buchnevich is a good offensive player. He’s capable of scoring, he’s capable of finding his teammates on the ice… and his size, combined with his speed, makes him a constant threat when he’s in the opposing zone.
For the Blues to make a splash next season, Buchnevich must play as much as possible—which has been the case for the past two seasons—and he must be sharp night after night.
This is what he’s sometimes criticized for: the Russian likes to take some nights off… even though he has all the talent in the world to be one of the very best players on the Bettman circuit.
Robert Thomas
Robert Thomas stands out as a super big player for the St. Louis Blues.
As one of the best centers in the NHL, he blends skill, intelligence, and poise, consistently generating offensive chances and keeping the play moving.
His playmaking ability allows him to set up teammates in tight spaces, while his vision on the ice makes him a threat every shift. Beyond scoring, Thomas contributes in both ends of the rink, showing responsibility defensively and supporting his team in key situations. His presence has become essential to the Blues’ success, and he continues to mature into a player who can influence games at every level.
Jordan Kyrou
Jordan Kyrou is the heart and soul of the St. Louis Blues. His ability to create offense, generate speed through the neutral zone, and make plays under pressure makes him indispensable to the team.
Kyrou’s production is vital for the Blues’ success; when he’s on his game, the team flows and threats are constant.
Beyond scoring, his energy and commitment set the tone for his teammates every night. As one of the leaders on the ice, he carries the responsibility of driving results, and the Blues’ hopes for a strong season are closely tied to his ability to deliver consistently at a high level.
