Emil Heineman recalled by the Canadiens

Yesterday, after the Buffalo game, Martin St-Louis said he didn’t know if the Habs would stick with the 11-forward, seven-defense system for the rest of the game.

The coach wanted to evaluate things.

But now a big clue to that effect has been revealed: Emil Heineman has been (urgently) recalled by the Habs. He will join the club on Friday afternoon, according to the club.

He played two games for the Canadiens in December, but Jordan Harris’ return to action forced the Canadiens to send him back to the AHL on December 28.

Those were his first two NHL games.

He has played three games for Laval since being sent back to the AHL. He was on the road in Utica with the Rocket before being recalled this morning by Habs management.

To make room for him, we imagine that Christian Dvorak, whose season is over, will go on the injured list. Any other personnel move would be a surprise.
