Mike Johnson doesn’t believe Connor McDavid is healthy, that knee-on-knee hit left him with a sore knee or a Charlie horse, Ryan Rishaug posted a clip of him flexing his leg at practice.

After a seven-game elimination against the New Jersey Devils, the New York Rangers will not have an easy summer. Several players, such as Patrick Kane and Vladimir Tarasenko, will become unrestricted free agents. Those players won’t be coming back…
Alexis Lafrenière and K’Andre Miller will both be unrestricted free agents. So, Chris Drury will have his work cut out for him, and he’ll have to deal with a tight payroll. To give you an idea, New York should have a payroll of $71 million with 13 players under contract.

Indeed, the Informateur believes the defenseman will command a salary of around eight million dollars per season. And Drury simply doesn’t have that kind of money available. He’ll have to do some gymnastics with the payroll, clearly.
In 79 games this season, the Minnesota-born defenseman collected 43 points, including nine goals. He was the team’s second most productive defenseman behind a certain Adam Fox. In the NHL, hostile offers are very rare, but they do happen on occasion. Marc Bergevin did it with Sebastian Aho and Don Waddell did it with Jesperi Kotkaniemi, who just scored his first goal of the playoffs.
Alexis Lafrenière (RFA), who is not expected to receive a hostile offer, is also an intriguing case. The Quebecer had the best season of his career with 39 points, but in the playoffs –as you know – he didn’t collect a single point.
In short, I’d hate to be in the Rangers’ boss’s shoes right now…
