The New York Giants have decided to bring in J.J. McCarthy by completing a trade with the Minnesota Vikings.

This change of scenery, however, comes with one significant twist: McCarthy will be reunited on the Giants' coaching staff with John Harbaugh, the brother of Jim Harbaugh, who previously coached him at Michigan.
In New York, however, his arrival does not automatically mean he will become the starter. John Harbaugh has indicated that Jameis Winston will remain the starting quarterback, even after the potential arrival of a new player at that position.
Winston had been promoted to the starting role following an injury to Jaxson Dart, who was sidelined for an extended period after knee surgery. His early performances, however, were lackluster, with only a 51% completion rate, 229 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception.
