Panthers Employee Suspended Following His Arrest

Everyone has done something stupid at some point in their lives. Sometimes it's a minor thing, sometimes it's more serious.

In the NHL, there have been instances where players or staff members have been arrested for various reasons, and sometimes a suspension and an investigation follow the arrest to get to the bottom of things.

That's what happened with the Panthers organization, when equipment manager Teddy Richards was arrested last Friday (yesterday).

The reason for the arrest is still unknown.

However, the Panthers issued a statement noting that Richards has been suspended pending the investigation.

While the investigation is ongoing, Teddy Richards will not have access to any team activities or facilities.

Of course, this doesn't mean Richards is guilty, regardless of the reasons for the arrest.

The case will likely remain confidential until the investigation is concluded.

At that point, we should have more details regarding the reason for the arrest, whether Richards was in fact guilty, and what the Panthers will do with their equipment manager.

What's worth noting in all of this is that Richards was also a member of the U.S. Olympic team and contributed to the team's success and gold medal victory. He was also part of the U.S. team at the Four Nations Tournament as well as the 2026 World Championships.

Richards has held this position with the Panthers since the 2016–17 season.

We'll have to see if he keeps his job or if he'll have to find another one.

If he's found guilty, it will surely be more difficult for him to find another job as an equipment manager in the NHL.
