It's official.
The Laval Rocket announced that Daniel Jacob will succeed Pascal Vincent as head coach of the AHL team moving forward.

Rumors had been circulating for a while. We'd heard that the possibility of him moving from an assistant coaching role to head coach was very real.
But now it's official.

Following Sylvain Lefebvre, Joël Bouchard, Jean-François Houle, and Pascal Vincent, Jacob is now the fifth man to take the helm of the Canadiens' farm team.
Keep in mind that this was expected.

It's worth noting that Jacob has often served as an assistant coach in recent years. He was Joël Bouchard's assistant from 2014 to 2022 (Armada, Rocket, and Gulls) as well as during the 2023–2024 season in Syracuse.
He returned to Laval to assist Pascal Vincent in 2024 so he could be closer to his family. And now, he's been given the full-time position moving forward.
