Sergei Bobrovsky, as we know, was probably the biggest name on the market today. The Panthers goaltender, who has an impressive track record, saw his former team move in a different direction.
The Panthers acquired Jacob Markstrom yesterday… and that pretty much confirmed that Bob wouldn't be coming back.
The question was where Bobrovsky would end up. And from the start, it felt like the Maple Leafs were the favorites to land him.
And it's finally been confirmed: the Russian will continue his career in Toronto. He signed a three-year contract… worth $7 million per year.
Remember that a few years ago, Anthony Stolarz was his backup in Florida: so he'll be reunited with him in Toronto.

The Maple Leafs clearly want to become competitive again in 2026–27. The team wants to put its difficult season behind it and try to find some stability in net with Bobrovsky.
The Russian had a miserable season last year with a save percentage of .877: will the 38-year-old—who turns 38 at the start of next season—be able to bounce back?
But in Bobrovsky, the Leafs are also acquiring a player who has won the Stanley Cup twice. They're counting on him in particular to help them become competitive again, both during the regular season and in the playoffs.
Let's see how this plays out.

Speaking of goalies, there was also a trade. The Oilers acquired Devon Levi in a deal with the Sabres.
The Oilers paid a third-round pick to get him… and that likely closes the door on Samuel Montembeault ending up in Edmonton.
#Oilers have acquired G Devon Levi from #Sabres in exchange for a 3rd-round pick.
