Michel Langevin is entering politics: he will run as a candidate for the Quebec Liberal Party
After a career spanning more than 35 years in the media, Michel Langevin is officially turning the page on journalism. The longtime familiar voice of sports and general-interest radio announced earlier today that he was relaunching his X account… but with a whole new purpose:
“Hello everyone, I'm relaunching my X account. It will be a platform I'll use for political purposes. I'll be running as the Quebec Liberal Party candidate in the riding of Chapleau on October 5…”
This message confirms that Langevin is now fully immersed in the election campaign, having been nominated as the Quebec Liberal Party's candidate in Chapleau earlier this year. He left the airwaves of the morning show on 104.7 FM this spring to devote himself to this new challenge.

For sports fans, this announcement brings to mind another well-known career path.
Because it's worth remembering: for several years, Michel Langevin co-hosted the show Le Sport le Matin on 91.9 Sports with Enrico Ciccone.
Back then, the two men formed a popular duo who provided daily commentary on sports news… with passion and no holds barred. They were very popular in the media world, and we remember them as two guys who complemented each other perfectly on the air.
Today, their paths are crossing again… but this time in a completely different world. And let's be honest: Ciccone definitely had a hand in all of this!
As a reminder, Ciccone made the leap into federal politics in 2019. He is now recognized as one of the most influential figures in Quebec politics.
Michel Langevin, for his part, will be running for a seat in the National Assembly under the Liberal banner. We're talking about a guy who's spent decades commenting on current events, but now he'll find himself on the other side of the microphone, having to defend his own ideas before the voters of Chapleau.
The provincial election is scheduled for October 5, and the former host will attempt to wrest this riding from the incumbent government…
In a Nutshell
– Good point.
Evan Rodrigues was an underrated role player on the Panthers' back-to-back Cup-winning teams. He could step in wherever needed, in the top six or the bottom six. He played center this season due to injuries, but mostly at wing before that.
Great guy in the locker room, too.

– What a great moment!
Still watching this. We're so lucky to have @LukeWileman call
games. He nails every iconic moment. Then he flies right back to Vancouver to host two games the next day. He's Tirico with an English accent. (And his sidekicks Stevie and Kev are just as awesome.) https://t.co/j4EIxxRsLJ
