Pierre Houde needs no introduction.

His voice is instantly recognizable thanks to his many years of calling Canadiens games, and he is considered a true legend in the world of hockey.

And at 68, he still has the desire to keep working.

Mathias Brunet met with him, and Houde didn't hold back. Here's what he told the La Presse reporter:

I'm in great shape, and my memory is sharp. And above all, I still have the passion. I'm happy on planes, I sleep well in hotels, I bring my workout clothes, and RDS wants us to keep going. Why stop? – Pierre Houde

He loves his work. And we all know that's nothing new.

If Pierre Houde is still incredibly passionate and wants to keep living the dream he had when he was young, that's his decision.

It's easy when you go to work and love what you do. And clearly, Houde isn't about to retire, if we're to believe his quote…

A great honor for Yevgeni Volohkin

Does the name Yevgeni Volohkin ring a bell?

We're talking about a Canadiens prospect (a goaltender) who played in the VHL last season. And he was rewarded for his performances by being named Goaltender of the Year in his league in Russia.

He was excellent:

  • 25-10-5 record
  • Save percentage of .948
  • 1.51 goals-against average
  • Nine shutouts

When you look at his numbers, you realize just how amazing his season has been. This is a great honor for him… and he deserves it!

It's worth noting that Volohkin was drafted by the Canadiens in 2023, in the 5th round.

The Habs selected him with the 144th overall pick… and so far, the goaltender is showing he has some potential. He's certainly made a splash in the VHL (which is seen as the American Hockey League in Russia), and that's no small feat either…

Good news for the Knights

Tonight, the Golden Knights and the Hurricanes will face off in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final.

And the Knights have received some good news.

Noah Hanifin, who had to leave the last game to head to the locker room, will be in net tonight. Same goes for Brayden McNabb… who took a shot right in the face during Game 2.

Note that McNabb was in the lineup Saturday night for Game 3 of the series. That said, he (like Hanifin) hasn't skated since then because the Golden Knights wanted to save his energy for tonight's game.

Who will win the Stanley Cup between the Canes and the Knights?

That's a good question… because both teams have really been putting on quite a show since the start of the series. I'd put my money on Vegas, which can count on Mitch Marner… and is watching the former Leafs star make NHL history in his own way.

In a nutshell

– Note.

– It's now official.

– Well done.
