Phillip Danault has just scored two big goals for the Habs in the last two games. His goal against the Sabres set the tone for Game 7, and last night's goal sowed doubt in the minds of the Hurricanes, who then completely fell apart.
Despite the fact that he was acquired midseason, you can tell he's making a real impact in the locker room—and on the ice.
The second-round pick given to the Kings is a small price to pay for what Danault is bringing to the table right now.
His teammates love him, as Josh Anderson described.
Josh Anderson today on his Habs linemate Phil Danault:
“Game 7 in Buffalo, you saw him speak out there during intermission, had a few words for us. Last night too. He's starting to get comfortable with the group and he's been a lot more vocal.” pic.twitter.com/sUw7pqCFyP

Anderson said that Danault spoke up in the locker room during Game 7 against Buffalo and that he did so again last night. Danault isn't holding back anymore; he's becoming more and more vocal.
I love hearing that. Danault has been through some big games, and it's true, he's only been back since mid-season, but that's perfect.
Plus, he delivers on the ice. His biggest asset right now: faceoffs. Not only does he win the majority of them, but he wins them convincingly.
All on his own, he sets up direct attacks on the net thanks to his decisive wins at the faceoff circle.
I think he can continue to be a quiet strength for the Habs and a distinct advantage.

– Great defensive performance!
The Canadiens have improved several aspects of their game over the past few months, but one area where they've become a real thorn in their rivals' sides is in blocked shots.

– He's raised his game.
How do you explain the fact that Jakub Dobes, a ROOKIE goaltender, is dominating the competition so thoroughly during the time of year when the level of play is at its highest?
“He's a gamer,” Alexandre Carrier told me. “He's just so confident.” pic.twitter.com/iLIayoHQc6
