Martin St-Louis won’t guarantee that Josh Anderson and Juraj Slafkovsky will play on Wednesday
Martin St-Louis spoke to the media this morning.
Eric Engels asked him if it was certain that Juraj Slafkovsky and Josh Anderson, who left yesterday's game before returning, would be available for Game 5.
And the coach wouldn't guarantee anything.
Note that I said he wouldn't guarantee anything, not that he couldn't guarantee anything. For the past month, with the coach refusing to confirm anything, those are two different statements.
Here is the coach's response.
“I haven't spoken to anyone today, so I don't know. I imagine so, both of them are back. I didn't leave the arena yesterday thinking it was an issue.” – Martin St-Louis
Unless there's a major surprise (if Slaf has a headache, for example), I expect to see both guys in uniform on Wednesday for the game against the Lightning.
The opposite would be a surprise.
But as I said, the fact that Martin St-Louis won't confirm anything only opens the door to speculation. His response, in which the words “I don't know” come up quickly, doesn't dispel the doubts.
He undoubtedly wants to create some in the Lightning's minds—we know that. But by doing so, he opens the door to something else.
Remember that if any trades were to happen, Joe Veleno and Brendan Gallagher would be options on the trading block. Patrik Laine too, but don't hold your breath on that one, you know what I mean.
We'll see what tomorrow's practice brings us, as an answer.

– Interesting.
Based on Jon Cooper's personnel decisions and his demeanor on the bench, it appears that he knows Montreal is the better team in the series.
But “can MTL win the series” remains a completely different question.
