Samuel Montembeault in net tonight against the Bruins

The Montreal Canadiens trained this morning at the Bell Centre in preparation for tonight’s game against the mighty Boston Bruins.

All the players were on the ice, with all 20 skaters and three goaltenders in attendance.

Rafaël Harvey-Pinard was skating with his teammates.

The main thing to watch for with this practice was which goaltender would get the start tonight against the Bruins.

Well, all indications are that Samuel Montembeault will have the tough task of holding off the Bruins.

This means that, despite his fine performance against the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday, Cayden Primeau will once again be eating hot dogs in the heights of the Bell Centre.

So there’s no real meritocracy among goalies at the moment.

As for Montembeault, it’ll be quite a challenge for him to face the mighty Bruins, who have an 11-1-1 record so far this season.

As for Jake Allen, he should get the start tomorrow night against the Vancouver Canucks (10-2-1), another very good team at the start of the season.

Allen was sent off in his last game after allowing four goals on nine shots.

Montembeault came on in relief, and did very well, turning away 22 of the 23 shots he faced.

En Rafale

– What do you think?

– To be continued by the Rocket.
