Trevor Zegras: no contract, no camp
Trevor Zegras leaves no one indifferent. His flamboyant style of play and his character make him unique.

He’s still without a contract for next season, and he’s not shy about revealing how he sees things.

He told the NHL website that if he didn’t have a contract, he wasn’t going to show up in California for the team’s training camp.

“I’d obviously like to get back out there along with my teammates, but it’s out of my control(…)” – Trevor Zegras

The Ducks player, now settled in Connecticut, says he has everything he needs to prepare for next season. He also says he misses California and his teammates.

Remember that Zegras is a restricted free agent.

He mentioned the above while at Shoulder Check, an event benefiting the H40 Foundation, which aims to bring together and include everyone in the world of field hockey.

It was the organization’s first event, and several players (current and former) took part, including Zegras and Chris Kreider.

Former players included current CH head coach Martin St-Louis, who lives in the region.

St-Louis had fun testing the flexibility of Zegras’ stick in the arena’s locker room.

Ducks coach Greg Conin went to meet Zegras recently to find out his intentions for the coming weeks. The player agreed that his new coach is passionate and that the adjustments he seems to want to make to his game are interesting. Zegras says he’s ready to learn, but with a contract in his pocket.

Negotiations will continue, but this could become a hot topic in Anaheim if things don’t change.
