Rumor mill: DeBrincat’s move to Detroit begins to make noise
Stars, Golden Knights, Panthers, Predators and Red Wings.

Earlier this week, we learned that Alex DeBrincat had submitted his list of teams to the Senators for a possible trade, and the teams listed above are among them.

The file is moving forward, in the sense that the Sens are currently working hard to reach an agreement with another team. Could the deal be finalized before Wednesday, the first round of the NHL Entry Draft?

Possibly. But David Pagnotta was keen to point out that there is also a world in which the Sens make the trade on Wednesday night.

At the same time, Pagnotta reminded us to keep an eye on the Wings, who hold the 9th and 17th picks in the first round.

I’m one of those who’s really curious to see where the little attacker will end up.

After all, DeBrincat has been a fine scorer since he arrived in the NHL, already having two 40+ goal seasons under his belt…

And he’s one of those players in the league who has a knack for finding the back of the net with a shot that’s more often accurate than powerful.

A player to keep an eye on. And we should know his next destination sooner rather than later.

What’s going on between the Flyers and the Blues?

Elliotte Friedman tweeted this morning that Torey Krug isn’t interested in lifting his no-trade clause.

That’s especially in light of the fact that since yesterday, there’s been talk of a major trade between the Flyers and the Blues… And the details of the transaction have yet to be announced.

What we do know, however, is that Kevin Hayes is expected to head to St. Louis, barring a major turn of events.

So what’s going on behind the scenes between the two teams?

That’s the question on everyone’s mind right now. And let’s just say it’s piquing everyone’s curiosity.

David Pagnotta, who seems to have his nose in the story, has linked Travis Sanheim’s name to the deal. If he doesn’t go to St. Louis, it seems that the Leafs are also interested in his services…

And the Leafs also have their eye on Noah Hanifin, according to the same David Pagnotta.

Clearly, Toronto’s plan is clear. They want to add a left-handed defenseman to the lineup this summer… And it makes sense, with Jake Muzzin’s situation and the team’s lack of depth on the blue line.

There’s a lot going on in the National League right now. And it’s not going to slow down any time soon, with the draft and free agent market set to open next week…

And that’s just fine.
