Owen Beck will soon have NHL calibre according to Francis Bouillon

Owen Beck had an excellent Memorial Cup tournament. He caught the eye of many, including his future coach, Francis Bouillon. The coach specializing in the development of Canadiens players appeared on RDS’s Hockey 360 on Tuesday, and explained that he sees a great future for the Peterborough Petes player.

Beck may not have been the best on the scoresheet, and his team didn’t make it to the finals, but Bouillon believes he has what it takes to move to the next level soon.

“I’ve been following Owen Beck more this year and he’s a guy who, in my opinion, is very close to National League.” – Francis Bouillon

Bouillon sees several good skills in Owen Beck that could quickly push him toward the NHL. We’re talking about his vision of the game, his skating and, above all, the fact that he excels on both defense and offense.

In five Memorial Cup games, Beck scored one goal and two assists for three points. He had a big impact on his team. He even propelled the Petes to the semi-finals with this magnificent play.

Bouillon also took the time to discuss a few other CH prospects who will soon be making an impact at the professional level. He seems to be really looking forward to seeing Logan Mailloux move up to the next level. He’s aware that he still has a lot to learn from missing a few games, but that he can make up for it.

And let’s not forget Joshua Roy and Riley Kidney, who both burned up the QMJHL this year. Kidney finished 5th in the league in scoring, while Roy was 8th at season’s end.

Another Tricolore prospect also left his mark during the Memorial Cup. Jared Davidson finished the tournament with six points in five games, putting him in fifth place among the event’s scorers.

Davidson is not yet under contract with the Canadiens. It would not be surprising to see him come to an agreement with Montreal during the summer, as he can bring a lot to Laval.
