Golden Knights crush Stars to reach final
After taking a 3-0 lead in the series against the Stars, the Golden Knights seemed to be on their way to the final. However, in games #4 and #5, they were unable to put an end to the series, so game #6 took place tonight in Dallas.

Clearly, momentum was on the Stars’ side, and with the return of Jamie Benn (who had been suspended for the last two games), hopes were high for Dallas. However, in the opening minutes of the game, William Carrier made sure the home side’s spirits were dampened. Before long, it was 1-0 Vegas.

Clearly, the Stars were unaware that their season was on the line tonight. The club played on its heels in the first twenty minutes, and that allowed William Karlsson to double the Knights ‘ lead on the power play.

Not an ideal situation.

Just a few minutes later, it was Keegan Kolesar’s turn to add to his tally.

The support staff did their part in the first 20 minutes of the game.

So, after the first twenty minutes, the Golden Knights had a 3-0 lead. Clearly, the “Jamie Benn effect” wasn’t too strong.

In the second period, Bruce Cassidy’s team seemed to put their opponents to sleep. That said, they didn’t register a single shot in the first 10 minutes of the period.

However, the Knights were opportunistic, as Jonathan Marchessault (again!) found the back of the net on his team’s first shot of the second period.

The Quebecer has scored seven goals in his last seven games. You could do worse.

So, after 40 minutes, the Golden Knights were in complete control with a 4-0 lead. And they were only 20 minutes away from securing their ticket to the final.

In the last twenty minutes, we hoped to see the Stars show their teeth a little. However, right at the start of the period, Michael Amadio and William Karlsson made sure to nail the (already closed) coffin shut for the home side.

Amadio’s fine pass gave Karlsson his second of the game.

And while many fans left the arena following the visitors’ fifth goal, that didn’t stop them from adding one more. After demonstrating his passing skills, Amadio found the back of the net.

A convincing 6-0 victory for the Golden Knights. In the process, they eliminate the Stars and join the Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final.

The final kicks off on Saturday evening.

We were treated to a completely horrendous performance by the Stars, but we must salute the intensity of the Golden Knights tonight. They deserved to win and we should be in for a great final.
