Rumor: Dominique Ducharme could be headed for Switzerland

What does the future hold for Dominique Ducharme?

This is a question that has often been asked following his dismissal from the Montreal Canadiens organization. Recently, Ducharme became field hockey consultant for the Saint-Jérôme Panthères in the QAJHL…

But his time with the Panthères could be short-lived, if the latest rumors are anything to go by. A Swiss sports website (Planète Hockey) recently published a text stating that Ducharme has sent his CV to the HC Bienne team, which plays in Switzerland’s top division.

The site Rumeurs de transaction found it.

Interesting stuff.

This would be a great opportunity for him to start fresh and prove that he still belongs behind the bench of a professional team. No, it’s not the NHL…

But it’s still a special challenge.

It’s worth noting that Ducharme, while still a player, once played in Europe. In fact, I’m going to push the note even further…

And I’m going to ask you if you were aware that the former CH coach literally dominated in France towards the end of his career.

Remember, he still has one year left on his contract with the CH and doesn’t need to find a job (salary-wise) if that’s what he wants.

But, clearly, Ducharme is still interested in coaching at the professional level and this just goes to show how much he loves the game.

Now all that remains to be seen is whether HC Biel is interested in the services of the man who took the CH to the Stanley Cup Final in 2021.
