This isn't a joke.
Several weeks after the trade that sent Brady Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers, we've found someone in Ottawa who's going to miss him.
We didn't think it was possible anymore, since people in Ottawa don't seem to be too bothered by the situation.
But in the locker room, it's clear there's one player who isn't exactly happy with the situation. We're talking about Tim Stutzle, who's a big name on the team.
In an interview reported by The Hockey News, he wasn't afraid to say that he's going to miss Tkachuk. Seeing him get traded came as a shock to him.
Tim Stutzle, who spent six seasons as Brady Tkachuk's teammate and closest friend, said he is still “surprised” that the longtime captain is actually gone for good. @Michael_Traikos has the story: https://t.co/iImzSnK51m

He said that replacing Tkachuk's leadership wouldn't be easy. The trade surprised Stutzle, who was a close friend of Tkachuk's in the locker room.
How could he have been surprised? He must have been hoping, above all, that Tkachuk would actually stay…
He says Tkachuk probably enjoyed playing in Ottawa, which is somewhat the opposite of everything we've heard coming out of the Canadian capital regarding the American player.
The European forward also thanked the former captain for what he's done for the club.
Stutzle, who could be the team's next captain, seems to be going against the grain of the locker room—which had had enough of Tkachuk—by speaking highly of him.
But we'll praise his class—he doesn't want to add any more negativity to the situation publicly. That's a credit to him.
