Last month, the CH traded Sean Farrell to the Ducks. Farrell, after a strong college career, was never able to establish himself as a full-time player in the NHL.
In return, the team acquired another prospect who has been slow to establish himself: Sasha Pastujov. He's a younger prospect who has been dominating the AHL for the past two years.
That doesn't guarantee he'll make it in the NHL, of course. But he clearly has talent.
And Tristan Luneau, his former teammate in the Ducks organization, agrees: in an interview with Marco D'Amico for RG Media, the Quebec native had nothing but praise for the forward.
In his eyes, Pastujov is “such a good player.”
Chaos leads to opportunity.
With the Ducks' defensive depth depleted and cap space in limbo, top prospect Tristan Luneau has a real shot at a roster spot in training camp.

Luneau, who spent quite a bit of time with Pastujov and was even his roommate for one season, says the forward is an incredible person. On the ice, he also praised his playmaking skills.
He makes plays look very easy, according to the defenseman. And that's pretty much the conclusion my colleague Marc-Olivier Cook reached last week.
It's unclear whether Pastujov, who has never played in the NHL, will eventually get his chance in Montreal. It seems unlikely he'll start the season with the big team… but if he impresses in Laval and there are injuries on the main roster, maybe he'll eventually earn a tryout.
It'll be up to him to let his talent shine if such an opportunity arises.

– He's (really) not wrong.
“It's been a recurring theme for us over the past few seasons. We head into March in a really good position, and then we just kind of throw the season away.” – Red Wings defenseman Moritz Seider https://t.co/qGsoWjyEDO
